Duane Youd, 47, crashed the Cessna 525 twin-engine aircraft home on Monday (08/13/2018) early morning in Payson, a city of 20,000 people.
His wife and son who were inside the house could save themselves, while Youd was killed in the accident.
USA Today reported, Youd would be sent to prison in the Utah area on Sunday (08/12/2018) night for committing violence against his wife.
However, he was guaranteed to be able to return home at midnight. Shortly thereafter, around 2:30 a.m., he flew a plane. Launching from CBS News, local police official Noemi Sandoval said the house was engulfed in flames by a plane crash.
“He is an experienced pilot, and he flies from Spanish Fork Airport and then goes straight to the house,” he said. “We do not know the main purpose, whether he wants to crash low or even higher,” he said.
The Daily Mail reported that the plane that Youd flew was believed to belong to his boss. However, it is not known who hired him.
On his Facebook account, Youd claimed to work as a pilot for MedEvac. In a number of photos, it was seen that the white plane was burned and destroyed in the yard, near a rolled-up car.
Most of the structure of the house is still intact, but burned out on the front.
Hours after being arrested and released on bail for allegedly assaulting his wife, a Utah man stole a plane and crashed it into his own home where his wife was staying, police say. His wife and a boy inside the house escaped. https://t.co/aHUCDG3nMp pic.twitter.com/yoPoP6r7wp
