Croatia just managed to beat host Russia in the quarterfinals on penalties kick on Sunday (8/7/2018) pm dawn. In the game at Fisht Olympic Stadium, they won tosan with a score of 4-3. Previously, Croatia also made a surprise by beating Argentina three goals without reply in the group phase.
After waiting 20 years, Croatia made it back to reach the World Cup semifinals. Davor Suker, a Croatian legend who was also part of the 1998 World Cup team, revealed the reason his country could go so far.
Suker, who is now president of the Croatian Football Federation, believes mature preparation is key to the team’s privileges.
“We are a great country and have great players too, I see that in their eyes, they are well prepared,” he told FourFourTwo.
“I am convinced that many favorite teams are knocked out of the tournament because of bad preparations, why Brazil, Germany and Spain are out of the way because you have to work hard to achieve success.”
“This is a World Cup, not a competition who scores more goals,” said the former Real Madrid player.
Croatia will face England in the semifinals. The match will take place at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow,
