Shooting in Canada, 4 People Killed Including 2 PoliceCanadian police said they had arrested a suspect in the shooting which killed at least four people – two of whom were police officers.

The shooting took place in Fredericton, New Brunswick, in eastern Canada.

The police confirmed the death of the two officers via cuitan on Twitter.

The two officers have not been named, and the details and motives of the shooting are still unclear.

Police have called on Brookside Drive residents to “stay in their homes with doors locked”.

A local TV reporter said he heard four shots shortly after 7:00 a.m. (17:00 WIB).

Nick Moore, a journalist from CTV Atlantic, uploaded a video recording of the event on his Twitter account, which showed various medical emergency vehicles outside a house.

“A bad news came from Fredericton,” said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in his message.

“My heart is with everyone affected by this morning’s shooting. We follow this situation carefully.”

Fredericton is the capital of the province of New Brunswick, and has a population of around 56,000.

Firearms laws are tighter in Canada than in the US, but in recent years the number of shootings has also increased as in the US.
