The 180-meter passageway is in the basement of an old restaurant in the city of San Luis, Arizona through the border and ends in a house in the city of San Luis Rio Colorado, Mexico. The security forces found the hall last week and have secured the owner of the building.
Police are aware of the existence of the tunnel after arresting suspect Ivan Lopez in a traffic raid.
Thus reported the KYMA News television station. During a road check, the police dog sniffed a $ 1 million drug in Lopez’s car.
The investigator said the two containers found in the Lopez car contained 118 kilograms of metamfetaine, six grams of cocaine, 3 kilograms of fentanyl, and 21 kilograms of heroin.
The police officer then inspected the Lopez residence and his KFC outlet. That’s where the police found the tunnel door in the restaurant’s kitchen. The tunnel is at a depth of almost seven meters, has a height of 1.5 meters, and a width of 0.9 meters.
The police believe that all prohibited objects were pulled by Lopez using a rope. This tunnel is not the first to be found by US police. Two years ago nearly 800 meters of tunnels were found in San Diego, California.
Police said the tunnel was one of the longest ever found. Also read: Smarter, Drug Smuggling Can Not Be Detected The San Diego Tunnel Tool, police said, was used to smuggle unknown amounts of cocaine and marijuana.
