The three-time MotoGP world champion will join the Repsol Honda team after the season is over, to finish together with Ducati who defended since the start of the 2017 season.
The move could not be separated from the unsatisfactory results obtained by Lorenzo at Ducati. After passing throughout last season with three podiums without victory, just this season Lorenzo back on the highest podium.

“Everyone must want to change something from their past, but it’s impossible, it’s happening, that’s why you have to focus on the future and things you still might do,” he said as quoted by Speedweek.com.
“Sometimes I feel sad about leaving the team as competitive as Ducati and this bike, but life is about choices, we make that choice.”
“Now I am determined to win as much as possible for the team and leave this team with a smile on the face,” he said.
