Dovizioso: I’m Quick, but Still Not So Fastest

Dovizioso I'm Quick, but Still Not So Fastest
Andrea Dovizioso felt the speed was fast enough when compared with rivals after two Dutch MotoGP practice sessions. But he admits it is not enough.

Dovizioso get pretty good results on the first day of the Dutch MotoGP. The Ducati rider is in fifth position in the first practice session, then down one rank in the second session.
Note the time was relatively close to the fastest rider. In the first session, the difference is 0.410 seconds with Marc Marquez. While in the next session, he lags 0.481 seconds from Maverick Vinales.

At the rate, the Italian rider feels quite close to the rivals. But on the other hand, there still needs to be an increase in performance to be the fastest, at least closer to the leading rider.
“Today went a bit better than I expected, but we have a rate that is pretty similar to the fastest riders but we are not the fastest, so that’s not enough,” he said.

“” Today we focus on working on the rear tires and the speed of the motor is really good. But yes everything is not clear. We also have to work with soft tires. ”

“Tomorrow morning we will work with soft tires to try to understand how this tire will work, because the temperature is very hot for Assen we have to see how the rear tire works because it is very difficult to go fast and keep the tires in this circuit, because you always wear many corners cornering, “he added.
One of the challenging points for Ducati is in the last sector of the Assen circuit, which contains tight bends and demands rapid change of direction. Dovizioso agreed with that.

“I do not check the hell, but it feels like all Ducati riders have limits there, I think the change in direction at high speed, followed by a quick bend to the left is not the best situation for us,” he said.
