The bus took Dapoli Agricultural University staff to Mahabaleshwar for a picnic, Raigad district administrator Vijay Suryawanshi told AFP as quoted by the New Strait Times.

“We have confirmed 33 deaths and only one person survived the bus accident, our team is trying to evacuate the bodies of the victims,” ​​Anupam Srivastava, commander of India’s National Disaster Relief Force, told AFP.

“The survivors managed to alert the officer about the death and the accident,” he added.
